DEFINITION OF STANDARDS
This process is one of the pillars of Impactiva’s leading-edge Wet Blue Quality Assurance System. We work with you to help you define the rules of the game of your Wet Blue QA Program so that all parties in your wet blue to leather supply chain understand how your program will function. These rules of the game are converted into a ten page document called your Process and Procedure Book.
Before each season begins, Impactiva will work with your development team to understand the key concerns with respect to each wet blue type to be purchased. These are turned into “Know Your Wet Blue” spec sheets which along with the wet blue confirmation sample and range swatches comprise the standards for each wet blue type.
Impactiva will hold periodical meetings with the wet blue suppliers and your tanneries to define all standards and tolerances including any required range swatches.
Your organization will also receive ideas on how to improve processes that will help you optimize your supply chain: wet blue purchasing contract terms, packing instructions, physical properties and restricted substances testing protocols.
IMPACTIVA AT THE TANNERY
Production Quality Control
On each lot of wet blue we perform a series of manual tests that mimic actual laboratory tests. If any lot fails, we ask the tannery to validate the results in their laboratory and if confirmed, we work with the tannery to perform a 100% inspection for the detected failure with the aim of maximizing the % of wet blue that is shipped. If the lot passes, the wet blue then undergoes 100% inspection for grading and standardized trimming is enforced. The wet blue is then, packed and shipped by grade.
On Time Delivery Monitoring
We assist you to manage your on time delivery of wet blue orders by emitting accurate / reliable status updates every Monday with alarms for late orders. Detailed follow up of the status of particular orders can also be provided thus keeping you and your tanneries continuously informed of purchased orders that have very time critical ship dates.
