Leave your leather goods final QC in the hands of Impactiva’s corruption-free, highly skilled and technically qualified leather goods industry technicians.
How it works
Impactiva meets with you and your team to gain a detailed understanding of the operating rules governing your leather goods supply chain. Based on this information, we prepare your customized Processes and Procedures Book, which determines the daily operation of your Leather Goods Quality Control Program.
At the beginning of each season, we meet with your design and/or merchandising team to discuss their concerns regarding key points of the esthetic look and functionality of each style to be produced. Then, our technicians use these key points, along with your spec sheets and approved confirmation samples, to perform the final shipment QC.
When a purchase order is ready for inspection, an Impactiva technician verifies that the factory has produced the goods that have been ordered and all required physical property and restricted substance tests have been performed and passed. Then, we employ Impactiva’s best-in-class final shipment QC inspection methodology, which uses a tightened level III AQL sampling plan and includes critical/important manual tests and optical-feel inspections. Based on the inspection results, we approve the purchase order or reject it for 100% rework and re-inspection.
This comprehensive process ensures that +99% of your shipments arrive without factory claims.
Improve your company and brand equity while reducing your cost of poor quality by more than 90%. For instance, Impactiva can help you to quickly achieve the following savings.
Factory Claims: reduce quality-related claims to less than 1% of the pieces shipped.
QC Team Costs: eliminate the need to spend valuable resources on recruiting, training, coaching and supervising your own QC team, as well as disruptions from the departure of key QA/QC team members. Have the option of rapidly deploying trustworthy, industry-specific QC professionals when you discover suppliers in lower-cost regions or countries.
Freight Costs: eliminate the air freight cost of urgently replacing a defective product that arrived at your client, as well as the inland freight cost of defective products being returned by your client.
Rework: avoid paying $3-$10 per pair to repair defective accessories at destination.
Client Chargebacks: cut defective product chargebacks.
Gross Margins: decrease instances of clients cancelling orders (due to product returns/permanent rejection), putting you on probation or ending the relationship.
Chargeback Administrative Handling Costs: eliminate the need for expensive headquarters staff to spend time negotiating claims and chargebacks with factories and clients.
Variable vs Fixed: turn QC costs from a fixed to variable expense, allowing you to reduce headcount and the stress of higher monthly operating expense payments.
Brand Equity: avoid damaging your company’s corporate and brand image and increasing client dissatisfaction due to repeated product quality problems.
Product Quality and Competitiveness: achieve a competitive sales advantage by improving the average outgoing quality level of your product’s esthetic look and functionality.
Organizational Tranquility: reduce the arguments, disruptions and tension between you and your agents or factories, as well as the time spent by senior leadership on quality- and production-related issues (e.g., client calls demanding substantial permanent store returns, express shipments, claims discussions with factory owners who have cultural differences and are located across many time zones).

DEFINITION OF STANDARDS
This process is one of the pillars of Impactiva’s leading-edge leather goods QC system. We work with you to define the rules and requirements of your Leather Goods Shipment QC Program, ensuring that all parties in your leather goods supply chain know how to operate. Then, we convert these details into your Process and Procedure Book.
Before each season begins, Impactiva works with your development team to understand key concerns regarding each style to be produced. These concerns are captured in a “Know Your Style” spec sheet, which, along with material swatches and client-approved confirmation samples, comprise the standards for each style.
IMPACTIVA AT THE FACTORY
Using Impactiva’s leading-edge methodology, we perform a tightened level III AQL final shipment inspection. We perform daily critical tests, important tests and optical-feel inspections on all completed leather goods orders, ensuring that shipments fulfill your quality standards.
Further, we teach your factories how to perform a professional final QC, then hold them accountable by having each provide their report prior to our inspection. Lots rejected for defects are reworked 100% by the supplier. After the shipment, we provide an Excel-based report for every production lot.
OUR CONTRIBUTION TO CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Impactiva’s work does not end when your leather goods orders are shipped. Instead, we create and maintain a culture of continuous improvement and learning throughout your entire supply chain. If any quality problems or issues arise when the accessories arrive at their destination, we gather all necessary information and perform a detailed investigation to determine root causes. We immediately communicate our findings to you, your leather goods supply chain partners and the Impactiva team, then implement any process or procedure changes needed to prevent reoccurrences.
WHY IS IMPACTIVA DIFFERENT?
In addition to having zero tolerance for corruption, Impactiva uses a six-step process of checks, balances and duplicate controls, allowing us to offer the leather goods industry a unique, corruption-free final shipment QC service. Ultimately, our approach ensures that you get the quality of service needed to achieve business success.
