Kicking in – Case #642

Problem: outsole was kicking in

Impactiva solution: we got the factory to add a 2 mm. texon board at the heel part of the sole. This solved the heel kicking problem.

Outsoles’ rough edges – Case #598

Problem: the outsoles had rough edges.

Outsole shape spoiled – Case #572

Problem: outsole shape spoiled as it was not given enough time to cool down after attaching it to the wedge.

Impactiva solution: we got the factory to use a long belt line for outsole preparation and to store attached wedge/outsole at the end of the line what gives it sufficient time to cool down before storing and hence retains the correct shape.

X-ray on the outsole – Case #562

Problem: X-ray on the outsole caused by bulgy strap joints in between the insole and the outsole. The straps ends are open at the grooved area on the insole.

Impactiva solution: we got the factory to install a hot pressing mould machine so that strap ends would be attached at the grooved area on the insole while reducing the bulginess at the straps joint area in between the insole and the outsole.

Primer application – Case #555

“A picture is worth a thousand words”. Practical solutions to problems encountered in the manufacturing process that demonstrate how we assist our customers’ factories to produce Right from the Start TM.

Problem: the factory was using a plain nylon brush to apply primer on outsoles. This brush cannot hold the primer due to its low viscosity, what poses a risk of not applying sufficient primer. This may affect the sole bonding.

Impactiva solution: we got the factory to cover the nylon brush with a piece of cotton cloth in order to increase the quantity of primer applied to the outsoles, what will enhance bonding strength.

Impactiva solution: we got the factory to use a round foam applicator to spread the adhesive throughout the flat outsole, so that it can uniformly reach the edges, and thus avoid sole lip opening.

Risk of rocking – Case #515

Problem: the wedge mould edges are thick, what might lead to shoe rocking.

Colour difference in outsoles – Case #469

Problem: not enough light on the sole spraying stage which causes uneven spraying on outsoles, and shades not matched pair wise.

Impactiva solution: we got the factory to add one more light over the spraying stage to provide better lighting for the artisan to spray the sole in the right colour and to match it in pairs.

Problem: toe part opens as the welt contains oil, that weakens the edges bonding, and roughing was not done on welt and outsole.
